ATTOCK: A woman was allegedly shot dead by her husband on Saturday near Dhoke Sheikhan in the Sarwala Union Council area of Attock, according to initial reports and family members. Police and rescue officials said the suspect had reportedly come to his in-laws’ house to persuade his estranged wife to return home with him. However, after the woman refused to accompany him, the accused allegedly opened fire on her in a fit of rage, killing her on the spot. Upon receiving information about the incident, rescuers from Rescue 1122 reached the scene and examined the victim, but she had already succumbed to her injuries. Police officials were informed immediately and reached the site to collect evidence and initiate an investigation. Officials said the body would be shifted to hospital for medico-legal formalities after completion of the forensic examination.
