Swat: A three days training was imparted to local community of Swat region on the subject of Fruit processing and preservation by PCSIR Laboratories Complex, Peshawar. It is the second training organized by PCSIR for the local community of swat. Chairman PCSIR, deputed a team of Experts, for initially conducting a three days training at Swat. The objective of the training was to add value addition in the fruit and vegetables of Swat and preserve its useful ingredients and precious nutrients.
Almost 40 participants participated in this training and awarded with certificates after completion the course. The aforesaid activity was materialized in collaboration with Pak Army and the technical expertise, processing and training material/equipment were provided by PCSIR Labs, Peshawar.
Dr. ShahzadAlam, Chairman PCSIR always showed his full commitment for the exploitation and improvement of the natural resources of Swat through provision of technical expertise of PCSIR. The Chairman informed the participants, that Swat is blessed with world-class fruits, invaluable medicinal herbs, gem stones and marble. Only a little support from the Government will put things in a stream lined process, hence helping the Swat people in regaining their original stature of flourishing tourism and other industries. His Organization in this regard playing its due role, he stated.
In the concluding remarks, Dr. ShahzadAlam, Chairman PCSIR said that the initiative of organizing such a productive workshop will exploit the resources of the Swat region which will prove a gateway for its socio-economic uplift.
He also pushed for the trainees to utilize the expertise gained during the training up to the maximum extent in the days to come. He also promised that a mechanism for marketing the products of the trainees would be developed in consultation with the Pak Army in Swat.
