World Environment Day observed in Uni of Swat

Pakistani Council of World Religions (PCWR) in collaboration with University of Swat celebrated World Environment Day under the overarching theme of “Beat the Plastic Pollution.”
This collaborative effort aimed to raise awareness and take action against the global menace of plastic pollution, which poses a significant threat to our environment and future generations.
The event, held at the University of Swat campus, brought together religious leaders, scholars, academics, students, and environmentalists from various faiths and backgrounds.
It served as a platform for interfaith dialogue and cooperation, emphasizing the shared responsibility of all communities to safeguard the planet and combat plastic pollution.
Professor Dr. Hassan Sher, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Swat, and Prof Dr. Rashid Ahmad Vice-Chancellor of the University of Malakand delivered the keynote address, highlighting the importance of collective action to mitigate the adverse effects of plastic waste on ecosystems and human health.
Qari RoohullahMadani Chairman PCWR-FF emphasized the moral obligation to protect the environment.
They emphasized that religious teachings call for the preservation of the Earth and its resources, highlighting the intrinsic connection between Islam and the environment.
The collaborative efforts underscored the urgency to adopt sustainable practices and reduce the consumption of single-use plastics.
