Under the leadership of Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain, the Workers Welfare Fund Islamabad has emerged as a model, transparent, and modern institution—where good governance is not just a claim but a practical reality. These reforms truly reflect the vision of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, centered on workers’ welfare, institutional strength, and economic stability.
Chaudhry Salik Hussain has, through a comprehensive reform agenda, transformed the institution from a traditional bureaucratic system into a fully digital entity. Modern WWF mobile application, a Management Information System (MIS), and digital record management have elevated transparency, efficiency, and performance to new heights.
In the area of financial discipline, revolutionary steps have been taken. The implementation of a 100% cashless system effectively is being implemented, direct payments to beneficiaries through banking channels have strengthened public trust. Robust audit and monitoring mechanisms have made the institution a shining example of financial transparency.
Effective governance and prudent investment strategies have resulted in a historic achievement—more than a fourfold increase in revenue within just three years—demonstrating strong institutional foundations and professional management.
Exceptional welfare initiatives for workers are also part of this vision. The marriage grant has been increased to 600,000 PKR and the death grant to 1,000,000 PKR, while the Hajj quota for low-income workers has been expanded to 85—reflecting a genuinely worker-friendly approach.
Strategic development through effective asset utilization is equally commendable. Stable income from the F-6 Business Center in Islamabad, construction of modern labor complexes, and a secure investment portfolio generating billions in annual profit are ensuring sustainable growth.
At the international level, Pakistan’s representation has also been strengthened. Approval of labor conventions at the International Labour Organization (ILO), global visits by labor leadership, and the promotion of labor diplomacy have enhanced Pakistan’s soft image.
Today, the Workers Welfare Fund serves more than 1.9 million industrial workers—providing 83,462 housing units, 335,205 scholarships, producing thousands of professionals, and offering financial assistance to millions of families, ensuring a brighter future.
Chaudhry Salik Hussain’s vision is clear:
Empower workers,
Strengthen institutions, And lead Pakistan toward a strong, dignified, and prosperous economy.
This is not just reform—this is the foundation of a new Pakistan, where welfare is strong and the future is secure.
