New posted Station House Officer (SHO) Zahidullah Afridi vowed to wipe out narcotics smuggling of the area. Speaking to local media persons during his visit to District Press Club, Landi Kotal on Tuesday he said that Landi Kotal was a peaceful station and no one would be permitted to take law in his hand to sabotage the peaceful environment of the area.
He maintained that interest (usury) business was in progress on a large scale in Landi Kotal that caused monetary disputes in the tehsil.
In the direction of his high up, efforts would be made to curtain all illegal trades.
Strict action would be taken against those involved in it, he added.
He maintained that drug peddling and consumption affected the youth community and a zero tolerance policy would be practiced.
Flanked by Additional SHO, Saeed Afridi and Zenat Afridi he underlined the role of the journalist community in Khyber and said that in meagre resources and unfavorable conditions, they strive hard to highlight problems of public interest.
He urged them to utilize their energies against all social diseases and to use it for the betterment of laymen.
