10-Day Clean & Green Campaign formally launched

10-day long Clean & Green Campaign formally launched in the provincial metropolis here on Tuesday, Commissioner Peshawar Division, Mohammad Zuabir planted a sapling in a local park to inaugurate the campaign.
Besides, Special Assistant to KP CM, Malik Meher Elahi, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar, Shah Fahad and Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sania Safi, a large number of traders, government officials, students and people various walks of life also attended the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Peshawar Division, Mohammad Zubair and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar, Shah Fahad briefed the participants in detail about the Clean & Green Campaign and a special cleanliness drive in the district.
During the campaign, they said the officials of Town Municipal Administration (TMAs) and Water Supply & Sanitation Company will collect solid waste and garbage under the supervision of the district administration on daily basis beside the continuation of the routine municipal services.
Similarly, a public awareness campaign will also be carried out in the district during which general public and trading community would be advised against throwing garbage and dirt in streets, mohallas and on roads to put in the dustbins to play due role in turning Peshawar into clean and green city.
In this connection, two localities of Gulbahar and University Town would be made model zones with both people and trading community as partners in the campaign.
Furthermore, during the campaign, the people could dispatch photos of garbage through whatsapp on 0315 47001799 and action would be taken on them.
The ceremony was followed by the distribution of dustbins among the presidents and general secretaries of various bazaars’ associations and traders were appealed to keep a dustbin in every shop and put waste and garbage in them.
