Provincial Health Minister Khaliq-ur-Rehman on Wednesday distributed appointment orders to 125 newly recruited medical officers on fixed pay, reaffirming the government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare services across the province.
The ceremony was also attended by Health Secretary Shahidullah Khan, where appointment letters were handed over to 125 doctors out of a total of 165 selected candidates.
Addressing the gathering, the minister congratulated the newly appointed doctors and said the recruitment process was conducted purely on merit, ensuring transparency and fairness without any bias or recommendation.
He said the government was taking steps to strengthen the health system by recruiting doctors to meet human resource needs in all districts. He added that all health centres, particularly at primary and secondary levels, were being made fully functional to ensure provision of quality medical services to the public.
Mr Rehman reiterated that the government was committed to extending healthcare facilities to remote and underdeveloped areas where such services were previously unavailable.
He urged the doctors to serve with dedication and professionalism, emphasising that compassionate behaviour towards patients was key to improving healthcare delivery.
The health secretary also congratulated the recruits and advised them to uphold professional ethics and maintain high standards in their duties.
At the end of the ceremony, appointment letters were formally distributed among the newly appointed medical officers.
