ISLAMABAD: Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar Chaudhry has said sixteen Pakistani companies have got permission for export of seafood to the Russian market for the first time. In a statement, he called it a major breakthrough in Pakistan’s fisheries sector and a significant step forward for the country’s seafood industry. The Minister said access to Russian market is expected to open doors to other member states of the Eurasian Economic Union, further expanding Pakistan’s export potential. Junaid Anwar Chaudhry said Pakistan’s annual seafood exports will increase to 800 million dollars from five hundred million dollars following entry into the Russian market. He said sea, air and land routes will be utilized for seafood exports. ONLINE
