17 terrorists killed in Kurram Agency and Layyah

PESHAWAR/LAYYAH:
The Pakistan Army and security forces killed at least 17 terrorists in separate operations in Kurram Agency, Layyah and Quetta on Sunday morning.
According to security sources, eleven terrorists were killed in Kurram Agency’s Super Kot and Para Chamni areas on Sunday.
The security forces challenged the terrorists who were entering from Afghanistan in the agency and in exchange of firing 11 terrorists belonging to banned organisation were killed. Two security personnel were also injured in the firing.
At least five alleged terrorists were gunned down by the personnel of Multan Counterterrorism
department in the wee hours of Sunday in Layyah.
According to CTD, three of their close associates managed to flee from the spot. The CTD personnel informed the press that immediate steps were being taken for their arrest, further adding that a heavy cache of weapons and maps of sensitive sites were recovered from them.
Authorities informed that the terrorists, who were affiliated with proscribed organization Jamat-ul-Ahrar, wanted to target a sensitive religious site at Multan.
One terrorist was killed in exchange of fire in Quetta on Sunday.
Meanwhile in the combing operations across the country, hundreds of suspected terrorists were nabbed on Saturday night.
