The flour prices across the country went out of control as the government failed to implement wheat flour on fixed rate of Rs850 per 20 kilogram bag on Tuesday.
According to the details garnered, shopkeepers are selling a 20-kilogram flour bag at the price of Rs1,100 day after the government fixed the price of 20-kilogram flour bag at Rs 860.
The administration has failed to enforce the order of selling of wheat four on the set government price after the Punjab government approved a two-month interim policy to provide wheat at Rs1475 per maund to flour mills across the province.
On Monday, Prime Minister Imran Khan took notice of hike in flour prices in Punjab and directed to ensure provision of floor on cheap rates to poor people.
