0.232000 million children below five years to be vaccinated in the seven days anti-polio campaign continued across the Khyber.
The polio campaign has scheduled from October 24, 2022 and will continue till October, 30, 2022 in 28 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Last day Deputy Commissioner (DC), Khyber Shah Fahad administered polio drops to a child in his office to formally inaugurate the drive.
Earlier, a high level meeting under the chair of DC, Khyber was held in Khyber house, Peshawar that was attended by the officials of administration, health world health organization and polio officials.
The officials were briefed of the preparation of the drive including polio teams’ security, awareness, issue of refusals etc.
According to the health official 232000 children below five years to be vaccinated in the ongoing campaign and the purpose 969 teams had been constituted to facilitate the parents at their door steps.
Deputy Commissioner Shah Fahad urged all his subordinate officials, health and polio staff to play their due role in persuasion of the refusal of parents to vaccinate their children.
The district administrative official appealed to the residents of Khyber to cooperate with the polio teams by administering polio vaccine to the children to make the district and the province free of polio disease.
It is to be mentioned here that 20 polio cases have been reported from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the recent year.
