4,500 arrested in last year crackdowns against criminals

PESHAWAR: The capital city police claimed to have arrested more than 4,500 suspects in its crackdowns against anti-social elements during the last year. Police have also recovered 411 Kalashnikovs, 52 Kalakovs, 185 shotguns, 383 rifles, 10 hand grenades and more than 5,500 pistols, 29 detonators and around 250,000 different bores during the same period of time, said a handout. The police in the provincial capital have also established coordination with other institutions and units for curbing the incidents of crimes.
