5 protestors die, 17 hurt in forces firing in Tirah

Five protesters killed and seventeen others sustained on Sunday when the forces opened firing on protestors here in Brigade headquarter, Bagh Maidan Tirah Valley, local sources said.
The Member provincial Assembly(MPA) Abdul Ghani Afridi and Tehsil Chairman Mufti Kafeel said that the local tribesmen gathered in protest in front of Brigade headquarter to condemn the killing of a minor girl in a mortar shell strike last day.
The situation deteriorated and the angry mob got out of control and started stoning the forces.
To disperse the agitators, the troops opened firing on them that caused human loss, they added.
As a result 05 persons including Shakoor son of Yousaf and Saeed Gul son of Habib Khan of Zakha Khel tribe were killed and 17 got injured,who shifted to Bara and Peshawar hospitals,they said.
Vedios, viral on social media showed that tribesmen carrying injured, shifted to nearest health center for medical aid and later on they were transported to Bara and Peshawar hospitals.
Earlier an emergency was imposed in Dogra hospital, Bara and MPA Abdul Ghani Afridi visited the health center to examine the facilities to provide better treatment to the Tirah injured.
The firing happen was widely criticized and people from various walks of life categorically condemned it.
On the other hand Member National Assembly from the constituency Iqbal Afridi condemned the firing occurence and said the voice of Tirah residents for their rights cannot be pressed through such unfair practice.
He announced a protest rally to be held at Bab-e-Khyber on Sunday evening to denounce the Tirah firing incident.
