NADRA suspends issuing token to laborers for Torkham crossing for not paying dues

National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has refused to issue token to local laborers for Torkham border crossing till clearance of dues that has left thousands of daily wagers jobless.
Addressing to a press conference former chief of laborers union Torkham Farman Shinwari said that earlier the border authorities have formulated a plan according to that the local laborers have been exempted of legal traveling documents and NADRA on minor payment, used to pay by Deputy Commissioner (DC),Khyber office issued a special token to the manual workers for Torkham border crossing.
For the last four months V-Sat and verisys invoices scheme has been suspended by NADRA he added and said as per the registration authority, until clearance of dues Rs 808925 by the DC, they will not functional the scheme.
If the DC, Khyber is unable to pay the dues then they will organize a camp to collect the income through charity for the district high officer,Shinwari said.
Flanked by laborers association chief, Jamrud Aurangzeb Afridi and Mansoor Ali Shinwari Farman Shinwari lamented that because of disrupting token issuing, almost eleven thousands daily wagers have suffered.
They threatened that if the laborers facilitating scheme is not resumed in near future they will have no other option but to block the Pak-Afghan highway in protest.
