Lifelong Services of Nationalist Icon Rasool Bux Palijo Extolled on 92nd Birthday

Sindhiyan Taherik the women wing of Awami Therikh organized an event in Thatta to mark the 92nd B=birthday of stalwart nationalists, ideologists, human rights activists, and literati Rasool Bux Palijo who raised his voice throughout his life for the rights of suppressed masses and vividly advocated Sindh,s riparian rights.
The event took place at the mausoleum of the eminent leftist where his supporters, workers of Awami Taherikh, and known literati paid him a well-deserved homage for his lifelong services.
Addressing the gathering key leader of Sindhiyani Tehreek Salma Lashari said that Rasool Bux Palijo was an idiosyncratic political figure still idealized by youth adding that he set into motion movements against dictatorial regimes in the country.
She further said that he explored different social and political theories that had a strong influence during the 19th and 20th centuries and practically executed those theories by creating mass awareness among the subjugated class of the society.
Senior Vice President of Awami Taherikh Dada Abdul Qadir Ranto said that Palijo spearheaded several movements launched for the rights of Sindh and added that he always struggled for real democracy in Pakistan. Palijo Sahab bore the brunt of dictatorship during the anti-one unit and MRD movements that were launched for the revival of democracy and the constitutional rights of the people of Pakistan.
He authored several books on various topics to create awareness among the youth and make them able to face the challenge courageously; said Ahmed Katiyar, General Secretary of the party. “ He wrote books on several topics including philosophy, social sciences, politics, poetry, and history that is evidence of his vast intellectual abilities”; he said.
Earlier a convoy of Sindiyani Taherikh laid by Apa Hurunisa Palijo and Salma Lashari laid floral wreaths at the mausoleum of Rasool Bux Palijo and paid him tributes by singing nationalist songs and party anthems. Other small events were held in different parts of Sindh including Hyderabad, Jamshoro, and Dadu on the eve of birth anniversary.
