Under the Billion Tree Tsunami project, 118,000 saplings have been planted on 120 acres of Dak Ismail Khel

Secretary Forest, Wildlife and Environment Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Abid Majeed inaugurated the spring tree plantation campaign at Dak-Ismail Khel, an area of district Nowsehra by planting a sapling of Olive tree under the slogan of Plant for Pakistan.
Chief Conservative Forest Aijaz Qadir, Gulzar Rehman, and Additional Deputy Commissioner Nowshera Asif Ali attended the inauguration of the campaign.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Forest, Wildlife, and Environment informed that 12,000 olive, pine, plywood, cactus and bottle brush plants have been planted in Dak Ismail Khel under the Plant for Pakistan drive, adding that 95 thousand plants had been planted in the rainy season, said a handout.
It said that students of Higher Secondary School Dag Ismail Khel, Peshawar City School No 1, female students of Shaheed Benazir University, Scouts and locals participated in the tree planting campaign.
Under the Billion Tree Tsunami project, 118,000 saplings have been planted on 120 acres of Dak Ismail Khel.
The project has set a target of 173 million saplings across the KP under the drive Plant for Pakistan in the spring.
