CTO-Peshawar pays rich tribute to martyred policemen

Chief Traffic Officer Abbas Majeed Khan Marwat said on Wednesday that policemen who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty would be remembered for long and people across the country pay homage on Police Martyrs Day.
He was addressing a ceremony held at Traffic Line Bacha Khan Chowk in connection with Police Martyrs Day, said a press release issued by the police.
The Chief Traffic Officer welcomed the children and relatives of the martyrs while flowers were sprinkled on the children of the martyrs by City Traffic Police Peshawar.
Abbas Majeed Khan Marwat saluted the families of the martyrs and presented flowers to the children of the martyrs.
SP Traffic Cantt Khan Khel and SP Traffic City Muhammad Saeed were also present on this occasion.
Addressing the families of police martyrs, the Chief Traffic Officer said that the purpose of celebrating Police Martyrs Day is to pay homage to the martyrs and remember them because they have been an important part of our force and they have sacrificed their lives for maintaining law and order situation the country.
Sacrifices have been given to strengthen end the evil of terrorism from the country and safeguard the people from the terrorists attack, he added.
“Martyrs of police are our real heroes, thanks to whose sacrifices peace has been established in the country,” Abbas Majeed said.
He said that the sacrifices of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police were the highest in the whole of Pakistan and martyrdom of police officers and personnel from the rank of constable to the IG rank.
Policemen from the province fought on the front line against terrorism and gave the most testimonies, he added.
Traffic police chief said that the sacrifices made by the police officials would be remembered for long, adding that they have added a golden chapter to the history of KP police.
At the end of the ceremony, shields and gifts were also distributed among the children of police martyrs.
