CHARSADDA
Newly appointed District Police Officer (DPO) Rifatullah Khan on Monday assumed charge of his office and pledged to strengthen law enforcement, improve public service delivery and promote people-friendly policing in the district.
Upon his arrival at the DPO office, the officer was presented with a guard of honour by a police contingent.
He later visited the Martyrs’ Memorial, laid a floral wreath and paid tribute to police personnel who had sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. Special prayers were offered for the departed officers, as well as for peace, security and prosperity in the country.
The DPO also attended a Quran Khwani at the mosque of the DPO office, where prayers were offered for the martyrs and for the restoration of peace and stability.
During a visit to various offices and the Police Facilitation Centre, Mr Khan reviewed administrative affairs, departmental performance and the services being provided to the public. He also interacted with citizens at the facilitation centre, listened to their complaints and suggestions, and directed officials to ensure prompt, courteous and merit-based services.
Later, the DPO chaired an introductory meeting with sub-divisional police officers (SDPOs), during which participants discussed the district’s law and order situation, crime prevention strategies, policing priorities and measures to improve public service delivery.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Khan said the Charsadda police would discharge their duties with professionalism, integrity and a strong commitment to the rule of law. He said protecting the lives and property of citizens, curbing crime and promoting people-friendly policing would remain the force’s top priorities.
