ANP wants verification of votes polled in by-elections in NA-24 Charsadda

Awami National Party (ANP) candidate and provincial president Aimal Wali Khan, who lost October 16 by-elections in the NA-24 Charsadda constituency, requested the Election Commis­sion of Pakistan (ECP) to conduct verification of votes polled in the constituency.
The application seeking polled vote’s verification submitted in the office of District Returning Officer (DRO) Charsadda here on Saturday.
A statement issued from the party headquarters Bacha Khan Markaz, ANP provincial president submitted an application to ECP and demanded verification of votes polled in NA-24 in October 16 by-elections.
Expressing serious concerns over the results of different polling stations in the constituency, Aimal Wali alleged mass level rigging.
The ANP accused the provincial government of utilizing government resources to rig the election and acquire favorable results.
The petition states that the emergence of leaked calls on the night of the election is proof that the PTI and the provincial government had planned to rig the elections.
The leaked calls were also highlighted in the media, but still the ECP did not take any action.
ANP stated the provincial government deputed Lady Health Visitors (LHVs) on polling stations to manipulate the polling and results.
“Discrepancies have been revealed in the Form 45 and full results of various polling stations were also allegedly changed.
The electoral watchdog has been requested by the application and candidate for the NA-24 Charsadda Aimal Wali Khan for verification of votes polled in the by-elections.
