Chamkani Police foiled smuggling bid

Chamkani Police thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotics during an important operation near Motorway Toll Plaza here on Friday.
According to SHO Police Station Chamkani Zafar Khan police team under the supervision of SP Rural Zafar Ahmed Khan foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of drugs.
During the special operation, 55 kg of hashish and opium were recovered and two suspects were arrested along with the motor vehicle.
The arrested alleged smugglers were identified as Tahsinullah and Gulzar.
Police said that one person is a resident of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and another from Punjab province.
The accused were members of an organized drug trafficking network.
The accused were trying to smuggle drugs to Punjab from KP in a vehicle but police taking action on secret information busted them.
During the initial investigation, both the accused confessed to being involved in the heinous business of drug trafficking.
During the important operation, the police recovered 33 kg of hashish and 22 kg of opium from the secret compartments of the vehicle, and the motor car used in drug smuggling has also been taken into police custody.
A case has been registered against the drug smugglers and further investigation has been started.
