A protest demonstration of tribesmen against the apprehension of a local elder by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in an allegedly fake case was held here in Bara on Saturday.
Last day CTD police officials detained tribal elder, Mashad Gul at Bara Pul(bridge) and shifted him to their destination.
Scores of Aka Khel tribal took out a rally from Bara Bridge while carrying banners inscribed with slogans against arrest of their tribal elder and marched till Tehsil compound.
Speaking on the occasion those who led the rally included Haji Jafer Khan Afridi and others accused that on conspiracy of grabbers to halt distribution of land, fake cases were registered against the committee members, aimed to restrain them from the job of granting their due share of every person in the property.
“We are peace loving people but ironically the CTD police allegedly kidnapped their elder in a false case to blackmail him, that is injustice to them,” they opined.
They asked the government to provide security to their elders as their lives were in danger.
The protestors threatened that if the tribal elder Mashad Gul was not released till Monday then they would block the Pak-Afghan highway for all kinds of traffic.
After assurance of Station House Officer (SHO) Bara Police Shamshad Afridi, they gave up their agitation.
