Six months report says a huge quantity of drugs recovered during operations

Capital City Police Peshawar on Monday issued first six months performance report claiming that a comprehensive crackdown and operations were conducted against drug smugglers and pushers in the provincial capital.
The report said that during the first six months of this year as many as 4829 suspects involved in drug smuggling were arrested.
The accused who supply drugs to Peshawar and various other districts, including sub-provincial drug smugglers networks, have been specially targeted during the ongoing crackdown.
In total, more than 30 kg of ice, 137 kg of heroin, 271 kg of opium, more than 1652 kg of hashish and 1358 bottles of liquor have been recovered in the operations, it added.
SSP Operations Haroon Rashid Khan has directed to intensify the ongoing crackdown against drugs, he also to raise awareness among the citizens at the public level in order to make the young generation especially students aware of the harmful effects of drugs. Special measures have been directed,
Similarly, in order to further improve the ongoing crackdown, divisional SPs have also been assigned a special task by directing strict monitoring of elements involved in drug trafficking in the past.
