The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in joint operation with police force killed a suspected terrorist and another arrested. Addressing a joint press CTD additional inspector general Shaukat Abbas said that both terrorists were members of a banned organization.
“The terrorists were involved in the target killing of Sikh community in Peshawar,” Shaukat Abbas said and added that the terrorists have also been involved in killing of Four religious figure, three Sikhs, Two Christians, and a member of Shia community.
DIG CTD claimed that all of the above-mentioned target killing was carried out by the terrorists of the banned out fit since March this year.
The investigation also proved that in all these incidents, the same murder weapon, a type 30 bore pistol, was used, he added. A 30-bore pistol, a motorcycle, two SIM-Less mobiles, one BRT card and one Afghan citizen card in the name of Khalid son of Musafir were recovered from the accused.
Mr Abbas claimed that CTD traced the the group with the mobile phone of the accused and arrested the main accused Aminullah son of Gul Muhammad.
CTD has started the investigation and interrogation of the accused.
The motorcycle and pistol used in all the incidents have been recovered and the entire group will be arrested soon.
The arrested terrorists were also planning terrorist activities during Muharram. Mr Abbas claimed that women are also part of the banned outfit and involved in terrorists activities, adding that police and CTD were committed to eliminate threat of terrorists and had launched a comprehensive drive against all banned outfit and soon their members will be arrested.
