KP IG opens command and control centre in Lower Dir

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Inspector General of Police (IGP) on Friday inaugurated a modern command and control centre at the Police Lines Timergara.
According to a statement, KP IGP visited Lower Dir and opened a modern command and control centre to ensure the safety of police facilities and people of the district.
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Malakand Region Mohammad Ali Khan, DPO Lower Dir Ziauddin Ahmed, SP CTD Amjad Khan, SP Investigation Zahoor Ahmed were also present on this occasion.
DPO Lower Dir Ziauddin Ahmed while giving a briefing to top cop Akhtar Hayat Khan said that 203 CCTV cameras have been installed at different places in the district.
Cameras have been installed at entrances and exits, busy squares, which will be monitored by technical police officers in the command and control room, while the number of CCTV cameras will be increased, he said and added that the command and control room system would help the district police to deal with street crime, terrorism, vehicle theft in a timely manner and it would also ensure the security of police facilities with the use of modern technology and equipment and CCTV cameras of all police stations, checkpoints, roads, squares and other sensitive places.
Security monitoring of markets, crime detection, quick response mechanism and traffic management will be directly monitored through police command and control system, DPO added.
RPO Muhammad Ali Khan briefed police force chief on the overall security situation and security of the district.
Later, talking to journalists, KP IGP Akhtar Hayat said that the police force has always played key role in war on terror and rendered countless sacrifices in line of duties.
He said that all available resources would be utilized to improve policing system in the province and equip the force with modern technology.
