PESHAWAR
The Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nadeem Aslam Chaudhary on Friday chaired a meeting to discuss and finalise activities to be undertaken on 27th October– Kashmir Black Day.
Caretaker Information Minister Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah, concerned administrative secretaries participated in the meeting while commissioners, deputy commissioners and other concerned officials joined through video link.
Chief Secretary said that special walks and rallies would be taken out on Kashmir Black Day and banners inscribed with slogans against India’s illegal occupation of Kashmir, would be displayed at prominent places and government offices across the province.
He asked that events should be organized in educational institutions to make the youth aware of the oppression of Kashmiris at the hands of India.
On the occasion, the caretaker provincial Information minister said that India had usurped Kashmir and committing blatant human rights violations.
Barrister Kakakhil said that preparations for observing Black Day had been finalised and added that the people of Pakistan were standing with their Kashmiri brethren in their struggle for self determination.
“The purpose of observing 27th October as Black Day is to draw attention of the international community to the situation in Occupied Kashmir and to show the ugly face of India to the world”, explained Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhil.
Meanwhile, Chief Secretary directed all deputy commissioners to take stern measures to bring down prices of transport fares and other essential items in their respective districts. He asked district administrations to pass on benefit of oil price cut to the people in the form of reduced prices of essential food items and transport fares. The Chief Secretary ordered strict action against profiteers so that to provide maximum relief to the masses.
