SBBWUP, City Traffic Police organizes traffic awareness campaign

Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar’s Media and Public Relations Office and City Traffic Police organized Traffic Awareness Campaign here on Tuesday.
SP Traffic Headquarters and SP Education Shazia Shahid and others informed the students about traffic rules on the instructions of Chief Traffic Officer Qamar Hayat Khan.
SP Education Shazia Shahid enlightened the students about the rules and the measures being taken up by the Traffic Police to provide smooth commutation routes for the people.
She said that the process requires cooperation from the general public too and for that creating awareness is mandatory.
She said that an effort is being made to create awareness from primary school level to the universities and Volunteer Task Forces are being made in educational institutions to help achieve the goal. The students will educate the citizens about the traffic rules in different areas of the city.
She also asked the female students to initiate this awareness in their homes as well.
A number of girls students expressed their desire to join the volunteer task force of City Traffic Police Peshawar, as a result of which City Traffic Police Peshawar jackets were also provided to some of the students.
During the interactive session, the students gave suggestions are discussed issues related to their areas which were noted by the team for taking measures. A mobile license unit was exclusively provided by the City Traffic Police Peshawar for the students and staff of the university, benefiting from which driving licenses were also issued to 65 students and staff.

On this occasion, the Deputy Registrar Media and Public Relations, SBBWU, Sehrish Zafar said that in today’s society, women are empowered and are advancing in professional fields. As they are becoming independent, a large number of female drivers can be seen on the roads. In this scenario, the importance of awareness regarding traffic rules is increasing.
While talking to the students, She emphasized that along with obeying the traffic rules, we should behave politely with the staff on traffic duty, and through the platform of this session she stressed upon the dire need to improve the health facilities and equipment for the traffic staff on duty.
Moreover, a mutual agreement will be signed between Shaheed Benazir Women University and City Traffic Police in near future in which university students will be included formally in the Volunteer Task Force of traffic police to help them spread awareness about traffic rules and other mutual considerations that will help the society.
