Gang of robbers impersonating polio workers busted in Peshawar

The Police Station Shah Qabool claimed to have busted a gang allegedly involved in a house robbery by impersonating a polio workers team.
The gang, including a woman, was allegedly involved in robbery after entering a house and taking the family hostage at gunpoint, said SHO Ali Adrash.
He said that a police team led by SP Investigation Muhammad Tayyab after a comprehensive investigation busted the gang and arrested four of its members including a woman.
The arrested persons robbed the house of a resident identified as Shah Muhammad at Garhi Mir Ahmad Shah.
The gang looted millions of rupees in cash, gold ornaments and valuable mobile phones.
SSP Operations Kashif Aftab Abbasi took strict notice of the incident and formed a special team headed by SP City Division Tayyab Jan to track down the involved gang and arrest them.
The special team started a comprehensive investigation on modern scientific lines and worked tirelessly day and night on geo-tagging and mobile phone data, including investigating several suspects by obtaining CCTV footage from the surrounding areas.
On receiving the information, the police team conducted raids in different areas of Peshawar as well as raids in other districts.
Among the suspects arrested during the main operation are Naeem, Niaz Ali, Iqbal and widow of Zain Shah. The arrested accused are residents of different areas of Peshawar, said police.
The arrested suspects of the gang have been involved in incidents in Punjab as well, who have recently served jail time in Adiala Jail
During the initial investigation, the arrested suspects revealed several incidents in other districts besides Peshawar.
