Muhammad Faiq Shah, founder and chairman of the Amun Taraqqi Party ‘called for adopting a unified approach and agenda to steer the country out from economic and political crisis.
On one hand the government was claiming to be attracting investment worth billions of rupees, while an latest economic survey showed apprehensions and indicated the wrong direction by 90 per cent, which is alarming for the rulers, Shah said.
He referred to the recent survey of IPSOS – a global market Research and Public Opinion Specialist, in which it showed 90 per cent Pakistan’s economic direction is on the wrong track.
The major examples exist with regard to rising inflation and reduction in export and foreign exchange reserves, he said.
Shah was addressing the party’s corner meeting and mass contact campaign here on Sunday.
The ATP chief raised concerns over the performance of the caretaker government, saying that caretakers are also endorsement policies of the previous regimes.
He said ground realities are serious while claims are colorful, stating that the same contradiction deceived the whole nation.
The party leader maintained the actual situation today is visible: the economic downturn, inflation, poverty and unemployment and destruction of business.
Faiq said the Prime Minister, COAS and heads of other institutions, businessmen, traders and industrialists sit together on a daily basis and should evolve a comprehensive roadmap for economic progress, otherwise it is quite impossible to eject the country from the crisis.
He said his party can unite the business community on a single platform.
Shah was of the view that neither justice was done with the country nor its people, owing to which gave birth to political, economic and social instability and turmoil.
One of the unfortunate thing is that we weren’t on the same page to adopt a unified approach and to put the country on the right path, he added.
Always importance was given to incompetent, inexperienced and powerless people, which were safeguarders of elites and slaves of the personalities and personal interests that were also unable to do anything for people, so they should be rejected by public vote that can lead the country toward progress and a better situation, he added.
He said ATP has come to the political arena with a new manifesto and program and called upon the competent people and youth to come forward and become part of this public authority and justice campaign.
