SSP Operations Kashif Aftab Abbasi has said that in order to ensure the safety and security of worshipers at Christian churches across the provincial capital, 1500 policemen performed their security duties at 55 different locations.
He expressed these views here on Monday while visiting Christian community worship places to review the overall security arrangements in connection with Christmas day.
Kashif Aftab Abbasi said that policemen have been deputed at 55 different locations for purpose of security and peaceful celebration of the religious festival of Christmas in the city.
“Under the special security plan, around 1500 police officers and personnel have been deployed at 55 locations,” he said and added that the purpose of security arrangements is to provide protection to minorities in all kinds of situations.
SSP Operations furthered that strict checking is going on at important and sensitive places and special blockades along with strict monitoring of suspicious persons across the district, additional patrols, local police including Ababeel Squad, City Patrol are performing security duties.
He said that security of each and every church has been ensured and all Churches have Sniffer-dogs, Ladies Police on duty.
Those entering the Christian places of worship were allowed to go through three-layer security and expert snipers are also deployed on tall buildings, including armored ones, around the churches, SSP Operations Kashif Aftab Abbasi said.
He said all energies are being used for the protection and prosperity of the minorities in Peshawar.
