Capital City Police Officer Syed Ashfaq Anwar on Monday reviewed the security arrangements for Christmas during his visit to various Churches in the provincial capital.
During the visit, the CCPO Peshawar reviewed the security arrangements for different Churches and met with the representatives of the minority community.
SSP Operations Peshawar Kashif Aftab Abbasi, SP Cantt Waqas Rafiq, SP Traffic Muhammad Arshad Khan, DSP Cantt Haroon Jadoon and other police officers also accompanied him.
Syed Ashfaq Anwar said that a special security plan has been set up for fool-proof security at all Christian places of worship for the Christian religious festival of Christmas.
He said police have been directed to ensure strict checking on all entrances and exits of the city and expert snipers have also been posted on tall buildings around the churches.
Lady police, walk-through gates and sniffer dogs have been provided to provide foolproof security to Christian places of worship and all Christian places of worship in the city are also being monitored through CCTV cameras, he said.
On this happy occasion, CCPO Syed Ashfaq Anwar also cut the religious festival Christmas cake with the Christian community and assured the community of full security.
“All efforts are being made for the protection and prosperity of the minorities and all Christian places of worship have been swept by BDU and sniffer dogs,” CCPO Peshawar said.
Three-layer security has been provided to protect the church and the Christian community involved in special prayers and leaders belonging to the minority community expressed special gratitude to the Peshawar Police for providing them security on the occasion of religious festivals.
