Police encounters case

Lahore High Court (LHC) while announcing decision of police encounters case has ordered FIA to hold inquiry on complaint against government personnel at every cost. Justice Tariq Salim Sheikh has issued 19-page verdict.
The court has ordered it is binding on FIA to hold inquiry against torture during custody and police encounters. The 2022 amendment has assigned the investigation against government personal to FIA.
The court remarked it is responsibility of agency to bring to open the truth while collecting evidence.
The court observed that constitution guarantees for stopping violence against citizens of Pakistan. The law directs to award punishment of one year and fine to government personal who perpetrates violence on citizen.
It is pertinent to mention here the lady had resorted to court in connection with registration of case on killing of 4 persons in police encounter.
