The Provincial President of Awami National Party (ANP) Mian Iftikhar Hussain has expressed deep sorrow over the devastating fire in Mir Ali, North Waziristan’s cattle market, which killed numerous cattle and destroyed shops and storehouses in the vegetable market.
He said that the tragic incident has caused significant financial losses for local businessmen, many of whom are still awaiting compensation from previous operations, including Operation Zarb Azab.
ANP senior leader urged the provincial government and relevant institutions to carry out assessment of the losses and support the affected businessmen.
“A transparent investigation should be conducted to uncover all the details surrounding the incident,” he said and added that the fire, reportedly caused by falling mortar shells, has added to the hardships faced by the victims of previous operations.
Iftikhar Hussain emphasized the need for the government and institutions to support affected businessmen, assess their losses, and provide immediate assistance.
Hussain also highlighted the marginalization of Pakhtuns impacted by terrorism, reaffirming ANP Mir Ali’s solidarity with the victims and commitment to advocating for justice and compensation.
