Lahore High Court (LHC) has rejected bail plea of one Naveed, major accused in attack on PTI founder Imran Khan,
A two members bench of LHC presided over by Justice Shahbaz Rizvi took up bail plea of the accused for hearing Wednesday.
Mian Dawood counsel for the accused while giving arguments said accused Naveed was not present on the occasion. Police included his name in the case unjustly. The eyewitnesses told about unknown accused while solid evidence is also not available. It is requested to the court the bail of the accused be accepted due to insufficient evidences.
The prosecutor while opposing bail plea said the accused is nominated in the case and was arrested from the scene . The accused was identified in footage too. The witnesses are also present there. Concrete evidence is also available against the accused. Therefore, court is requested to reject his bail plea.
The court rejected bail plea of the accused after hearing the arguments.
It is pertinent to mention here that murderous attack was made on Imran Khan during PTI long march in Wazirabad on November 3, 2022. PTI chairman was injured therein. One person was killed and 13 persons including PTI founder and two other leaders were injured.
The accused was arrested near the container later.
