Another petition filed in SC against 26th Constitutional Amendment

Another petition has been filed against the 26th constitutional amendment in the Supreme Court.
In the petition, it is requested to declare the amendment invalid. Several senior advocates have approached the Supreme Court to annul the constitutional amendment.
The constitution bench has already fixed the case in the second week of January 2025. The petition was filed on Friday by Sardar Latif Khosa and Barrister Salahuddin.
Other petitioners include Hamid Khan, Amanullah Kunrani, Abid Hasan Manto, Ali Ahmed Kurd, Akram Sheikh, Qazi Mohammad Anwar, Munir A. Malik and Abid Zubiri are included.
Contrary to the principle of apportionment, the 26th constitutional amendment could not have been passed without the decision of certain seats.
It has been requested that all actions resulting from the 26th constitutional amendment be suspended till the final decision.
It has been said that the applications should be fixed for hearing soon and due to constitutional and legal issues, this case requires speedy hearing, so it should be fixed for hearing soon.
