IHC rejects bail plea of person accused in case of for spreading blasphemous material

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has rejected bail plea of a person accused in a case registered against him under PECA act for spreading blasphemous material. According to police record the mobile from which the blasphemous material was shared is registered in the name of the accused. The court further remarked technical analysis report apparently proves involvement of petitioner in the crime. The court’s observations given in bail case will not influence the case in trial court. Without going to merit of case, the court thinks the accused is not entitled to bail at this stage of case. Justice Muhammad Azam Khan of IHC rejected bail after arrest plea of accused Khurshid in contempt of court case. The court issued 4-page decision with the reasons for rejecting the bail. ONLINE
FIA had registered case under section 11 of PECA act against the accused for advertising blasphemous material.
It has been said in the written decision according to counsel of the petitioner the plaintiff got case registered against the petitioner in connivance with FIA. The petitioner is not nominated accused in the case. He was involved in the case after 10 months.
As per record the blasphemous material was sent through whatsapp from the mobile phone recovered from the accused during the investigation.
According to decision it has come to fore through technical analysis blasphemous material was shared.
