Adviser to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Public Relations, Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif, stated that like the rest of the country, the Youmi-i- Tashakur was celebrated with full zeal and fervor across the province.
The day began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and special prayers for national unity following Fajr prayers. In the provincial capital, Peshawar, a 21-gun salute was offered to mark the occasion, while prayers were held for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and for national security.
Barrister Dr. Saif said that flag-hoisting ceremonies were held at government offices and public venues across the province after sunrise. At 10 a.m., a one-minute silence was observed in all government institutions to honour the sacrifices made.
The Friday sermons focused on themes of national gratitude, unity, and resilience.Special ceremonies were organized in various cities, towns, and public spaces to pay tribute to the martyrs.
Citizens visited the graves of the martyrs, laid floral wreaths, and met with the families of the martyrs to express solidarity. Visits were also made to the shrines of national heroes to offer homage.
Educational institutions in KP hosted solemn and dignified events marking the day. National flags and banners were prominently displayed in public squares, government offices, and community centres.
