Central Secretary General Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Humayun Khan has congratulated the nation on the occasion of International Day of Parliamentarism on Monday.
In a statement on the occasion, he said that they acknowledge the vital role of parliament in promoting democracy, accountability, and peace in society.
He said parliaments are the cornerstone of democratic systems.
They provide a platform for representation, debate, and decision-making and serve as a bridge between citizens and governments.
The parliaments ensure that the voice of the people is heard and that their interests are represented.
“We recognize the tireless efforts of parliamentarians around the world,” added the PPP Secretary General.
He said that parliaments work to uphold the principles of democracy, transparency, and accountability.
Humayun Khan said that a stronger parliamentary system is essential for building a robust, stable, and prosperous society.
“We appreciate the parliamentary commitment to promoting dialogue, cooperation, and consensus despite challenges and differences,” he concluded.
