TANK: Medical Superintendent Dr. Israr-ul-Haq on Wednesday announced a decisive end to the long-standing proxy culture at DHQ Hospital Tank, declaring that the era of drawing government salaries without attending duty is over. Addressing a meeting of medical officers, he made it clear that employees unwilling to perform their responsibilities should seek transfers elsewhere. Dr. Israr stressed that ensuring the presence of hospital staff was his responsibility and that the hospital will no longer operate under outdated and ineffective practices. He pledged to restore the true functional identity of the hospital. He revealed that significant improvements have already been initiated, including the installation of clean and cool drinking water facilities, an upgraded sanitation system, and the transparent procurement of medicines through open bidding for the first time in the hospital’s history. A digital patient record system has also been introduced to ensure accountability and enhance service delivery. Emergency patients, he added, will now be treated within the hospital premises with all necessary facilities available, reducing the need for referrals to other cities. Dr. Israr reaffirmed his commitment to delivering on the responsibilities assigned by the government, aiming to make DHQ Hospital Tank a model of efficient and patient-focused healthcare. DLP Report
