500 stranded tourists rescued after landslide blocked Saiful Malook lake road

PESHAWAR: A landslide occurred on the Saif-ul-Muluk Lake Road due to a cloudburst, resulting in more than 500 tourists from across the country and over 117 jeeps were stranded. Tourism Department spokesman in a statement here said Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur took immediate notice of the incident and directed Secretary of Tourism Dr. Abdul Samad to utilize all available resources to safely evacuate the tourists. Secretary of Tourism Dr. Abdul Samad issued instructions to the Director General of Kaghan Development for a rescue operation. Through this operation, all the 500 stranded tourists in the area were safely relocated to a secure location. APP
KP Govt promotes performing art, music education: Secretary Culture
PESHAWAR: Secretary of Culture and Tourism, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr. Abdul Samad here Saturday said that KP Govt was promoting music education and performing arts in the province. Hr said plans are being developed to convert Nishtar Hall Peshawar into a specialized academy for performing arts and music education. He mentioned that no cultural events have been held at Nishtar Hall for several years, which is undoubtedly a disservice to the arts. Addressing a meeting held in his office regarding the Abaseen Arts Council, the Secretary of Culture and Tourism said that work is being done to design various courses related to fine arts, music and musical instruments, drama, theater, and literature. This will allow the hall’s infrastructure to be utilized positively. He added that this initiative will help educated and skilled artists emerge at both provincial and national levels. APP
Governor KP, Chan hold informal meeting with senior Journalists
ISLAMABAD: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi and Pakistan Peoples Party’s Central Secretary Information Nadeem Afzal Chan held an informal meeting with prominent journalists at the Governor House in Islamabad on Saturday. During the meeting, the overall political situation of the country and key issues pertaining to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were discussed in detail. Among the journalists present were Irfan Saddozai, Ahmad Nawaz, Khalid Chaudhry, Sohail Khan, Itarat Jafri, Usman Jabbar, and Furqan Ali. Meanwhile, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has praised the establishment of industries abroad by Pakistanis and their investments back home, calling these efforts highly encouraging and beneficial for the country’s economy.
He expressed these views during a special meeting with Sameer Munir Sheikh, Director of Nashwa Group, at his residence in Islamabad.
Governor Kundi said that the government encourages overseas Pakistanis to invest internationally while also contributing to Pakistan’s economy through foreign exchange earnings.
He expressed happiness over the establishment of Nashwa Group’s textile operations in Saudi Arabia and congratulated the entire team for this achievement.
He also highlighted the significant investment opportunities available in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and urged industrialists to explore the province for potential business ventures.
