In a bid to strengthen regional ties in tourism and trade, Pakistan’s National Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Tourism, Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, held a meeting with Tajikistan’s First Deputy Prime Minister Hokim Kholiqzoda on the sidelines of the International Tourism Investment Forum in Dushanbe.
The talks focused on expanding regional tourism initiatives and strengthening economic partnerships. Mr. Khan highlighted Pakistan’s potential as a premier tourism destination, citing the country’s rich cultural heritage, breathtaking landscapes, and pro-investment policies designed to attract global capital.
Pakistan offers limitless opportunities in tourism and is ready to welcome the world,” he said in his keynote address.
The forum, jointly organized by the Government of Tajikistan and UN Tourism at the National Library of Tajikistan, drew ministers, diplomats, and investors from across the globe.
Mr. Khan also met with Sultan Rahimzoda, Chairman of Tajikistan’s State Committee for Investment and State Property Management, where discussions included student exchange programs, the establishment of direct air connectivity, and frameworks for greater trade and tourism collaboration.
Emphasizing shared ties, Mr. Khan noted:
Pakistan and Tajikistan are connected not only by geography but also by deep historical and cultural bonds. Strengthening tourism and trade linkages will unlock immense opportunities for both nations.” The forum underscored Central Asia’s growing role as a hub for sustainable tourism and regional economic development.
