Los Angeles: Global superstar Jennifer Lopez has already moved on to her next major project after wrapping up promotions for Kiss Of The Spider Woman alongside her ex-husband Ben Affleck in Manhattan earlier this week. The 56-year-old actress and singer was spotted filming her latest psychological thriller The Last Mrs. Parrish in New York City on Friday, dressed in a striking crimson red tailored blazer and matching skirt, cinched with a black belt. She completed her elegant ensemble with plaid heels, a wide-brimmed hat, cat-eyed sunglasses, black gloves, and diamond-and-pearl jewelry. Directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Robert Zemeckis, the film is an adaptation of the best-selling novel by Liv Constantine — a Reese Witherspoon Book Club pick — and promises to deliver a gripping tale of manipulation, deceit, and revenge among the wealthy elite. Lopez is co-producing the film with former Vegas actress Molly Sims, marking a clear professional move away from Affleck, with whom she collaborated on several recent projects including Unstoppable (2024). The movie features a stellar cast including Isabel May (of 1883) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (of Game of Thrones fame). The story follows Amber Patterson, a cunning con artist who infiltrates the life of affluent socialite Daphne Parrish in an attempt to steal her husband and lavish lifestyle — only to discover Daphne’s dark counterplot for revenge.
Earlier this week, Lopez appeared with Ben Affleck at the Kiss Of The Spider Woman premiere, where she revealed to Gayle King that she had “got very thin” for the role, portraying a “Hollywood bombshell.” Nutrition experts estimate she shed nearly 10 pounds for the part, dropping to around 125 lbs through a strict diet regimen.
The Hustlers actress reportedly followed a “no sugar, no carbs” plan similar to her 2019 fitness challenge with Alex Rodriguez. Lopez later told Hello Magazine that maintaining her health remains her top priority:
“When you take care of yourself and stay healthy, you’re better able to care for those you love. Working out is a priority for me.”
As for her personal life, Lopez told Gayle King she remains “open to love” after her split from Affleck, saying,
“The more self-aware I become, the more I feel whole and complete on my own. I’m excited for everything that’s ahead.”
Filming for The Last Mrs. Parrish will continue through the fall in New York and Connecticut, with a theatrical release expected in late 2026.
