London: David Heyman, one of the producers of the next James Bond film, says he is “very excited to embrace the challenge” of taking the iconic spy franchise forward under its new ownership by Amazon MGM Studios. Speaking on the red carpet at the London Film Festival alongside co-producer Amy Pascal at the UK premiere of their latest film Jay Kelly, Heyman told the BBC that the upcoming 007 project promises to be “something very special.” “It’s going to be a lot of fun, and I think we’re going to make something very special,” Heyman said. “We have a magnificent director, a wonderful writer, and it’s great to be working with Amy Pascal as a partner on this odyssey.” Earlier this year, long-time Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson sold creative control of the franchise to Amazon for a reported $1 billion (£760 million). The new film will be written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight and directed by Dune filmmaker Denis Villeneuve, though the new actor to play James Bond has yet to be announced. ONLINE
