Political campaign for LG byelection to end midnight today: ECP

The third phase of by-elections for local government will be held on October 19 in seven different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for twelve vacant seats across 12 different categories.
The election campaign will end at midnight between October 17 and 18. Polling will begin at 8:00 a.m and continue until 4:00p.m.
These by-elections will be held for vacant seats in categories including general, women, labour, farmers, and youth.
ECP spokesman here Friday in a statement said that elections are being conducted in the districts of Kohat, Dera Ismail Khan, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Malakand, Shangla, and Upper Dir.
All arrangements have been completed to ensure transparent conduct of the by-elections.
A total of 88,359 voters will exercise their right to vote for whom 66 polling stations and 201 polling booths have been set up.
As many as 23 polling stations have been declared sensitive, while five polling stations have been declared highly sensitive. Security cameras are being installed at the highly sensitive polling stations.
Election staff will be handed over election materials including ballot papers tomorrow (Saturday) and will be dispatched to their respective polling stations.
The Provincial Election Commissioner has appealed to all voters to fulfill their national duty without fear and come out to vote on October 19.
