Local court of Lahore has issued written decision regarding physical remand of 6 officers of National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) arrested on corruption charges.
The two pages decision issued by judicial magistrate Naeem Wattoo said investigation officer of FIA requested for more physical remand while prosecutor told investigation into the matter of accumulation of assets beyond known sources of income against the accused has been started.
According to decision the counsel for FIA told the court although mention has been made of Rs 90 lac in FIR but recovery has been made of more than Rs 4 crore.
According to lawyer the arrested accused are very clever and expert. Adopting extra ordinary method for investigation from them is must.
Prosecutor informed the court this is white collar crime and the accused are aware of different methods of bribe. The initial inquiry led to prove the accused are involved in bribe taking.
The court maintained recovery of heavy amount during the 3 days physical remand is important movement forward. Therefore, the accused cannot be discharged from the case at this stage.
The court while accepting plea of the investigation officer approved three days physical remand of the accused persons.
The court ordered that the accused be presented before it on November 3 again. According to FIA, overall recovery of Rs 4 crore, 25 lac and 48 thousands was made from the accused. Rs 1 crore, 12 lac and 95 thousands were recovered from Sarfraz Chaudhry out of this amount. NCCIA has registered case against 6 accused persons.
