The Curtain Raiser ceremony of the Pakistan International Maritime Expo and Conference 2025 (PIMEC 25) was held at the Karachi Expo Centre, where Commander Karachi, Vice Admiral Muhammad Faisal Abbasi, briefed the media about the upcoming event.
Addressing the media, Vice Admiral Faisal Abbasi announced that the second edition of PIMEC will be held from November 3 to 6, 2025, at the Karachi Expo Centre. He underscored the event’s importance in promoting Pakistan’s Blue Economy roadmap and noted that the exhibition will feature participation from nearly every region of the world.
He informed that a total of 178 exhibitors, including 28 international firms and 150 local organizations, will participate in PIMEC 25. In addition, 133 international delegations from Europe, Asia, North and South America, and the Far East — representing 44 countries including the United Kingdom, Italy, Iran, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Egypt, and China — are expected to attend.
The event will also feature pavilions by the Governments of Sindh and Balochistan, highlighting investment potential and opportunities in Pakistan’s maritime sector. Commander Karachi acknowledged the media’s role in promoting national initiatives and expressed confidence in their continued support for the forthcoming event.
PIMEC 25 will comprise a comprehensive maritime exhibition, business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) meetings, the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), and interactive media sessions. These engagements aim to strengthen cooperation and partnerships among foreign delegates, government officials, and maritime industry stakeholders across key sectors such as ports, shipping, fisheries, and coastal development.
Running alongside the exhibition, the International Maritime Conference (IMC) — scheduled from November 4 to 5, 2025 — will be organized by the National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA) under the theme “Harnessing Blue Economy Potential for Sustainable Development.” The two-day conference will feature 14 papers by distinguished national and international scholars and professionals across four sessions.
The briefing was attended by Pakistan Navy officers and members of the media.
