27th Constitutional Amendment

The federal cabinet has been summoned to meet tomorrow (Saturday) at 10 a.m. at the Prime Minister’s House to deliberate on the 27th Constitutional Amendment.
According to sources, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will chair the meeting via video link from Baku. The cabinet will review the proposed amendment in light of recommendations submitted by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
If approved by the cabinet, the draft of the 27th Amendment is expected to be tabled in the Senate tomorrow.
Today’s scheduled cabinet meeting was postponed earlier due to the political deadlock among coalition partners.
