JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said his party has grave reservations the way 27th constitutional amendment has been passed in haste and without consultations.
This amendment will be controversial like the amendments passed before 18th constitutional amendment. Consultation is must for legislation. On the occasion of approval of 1973 constitution, PPP had made consultations with all political parties despite having two thirds majority in the parliament.
PPP could make constitution alone. But it took into confidence all political parties, provinces and all school of thoughts and consensus constitution was given to the nation.
Likewise 18th constitutional amendment was passed after long consultations spanning 9 months.
Still political parties have this potential. But when 26th amendment came PTI friends did not participate in it directly.
However they remained in contact. Their opinion and reservations were noted. Consensus was sought on them. But norms of decency of parliament and democracy were not met on 27th constitutional amendment. No satisfaction is there in the nation over it.
As to why opportunity was afforded to nation to raise fingers on constitution that this part of constitution is partial. People laugh at this amendment.
Such privileges were given to certain personalities which has given rise to class discrimination in the country.
Council for Islamic Ideology has rejected legislation with reference to transgender because the laws run contrary to Quran and Sunnah.
Has government taken oath of UN manifesto or oath of the constitution of this country.
I want to divert attention of the house to withdraw these mistakes and correct law and constitution.
