Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Information and Public Relations Shafi Jan has strongly condemned the hand grenade attack on the house of Provincial Minister for Housing Dr. Amjad Ali, calling the incident a cowardly act.
In his statement, the Special Assistant said that such actions could neither intimidate the provincial government nor demoralize the elected public representatives and the public.
Shafi Jan said that fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. However, the provincial minister’s house was damaged.
He said that instructions have been issued to the police and other relevant departments to conduct an immediate and comprehensive investigation into the incident and the provincial government will bring the elements involved in the attack to justice.
Mr Jan clarified that the provincial government is strictly following a zero-tolerance policy against peace-threatening elements.
The Special Assistant said that the people of KP, police and security forces have made immense sacrifices in the war against terrorism.
“Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been a victim of terrorism for a long time and the leadership of various political parties, including elected members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf assembly, thousands of police personnel, security forces personnel and innocent citizens have fallen victim to terrorism,” the CM aide added.
