LAHORE
Lahore High Court (LHC) has stopped private medical university, University of Lahore from collecting excessive fee from the students.
The petition against charging excessive fee to students by private medical colleges and universities came up for hearing in LHC Thursday.
Justice Khalid Ishaq took up for hearing petition filed by petitioner Shehryar.
During the hearing of the case the court stopped University of Lahore from charging fee in excess of Rs 18 lac fixed as annual fee by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).
The petitioner took the plea university of Lahore is charging Rs 2327000 annual fee to the students while PMDC has fixed annual fee limit Rs 18 lac. University be stopped from collecting excessive fee.
The court also directed PMDC to ensure implementation of notification regarding fee in other private medical colleges and universities.
Advocate Hafiz Israr ul Haq gave arguments on behalf of the petitioner.
