Seven bogies of the Pakistan Business Train traveling from Lahore to Karachi derailed from the engine near Ghotki, Sindh, railway sources reported.
The incident occurred near Mohammadpur when the train split into two parts, with the engine moving several kilometers ahead while the bogies remained behind.
Railway authorities said the detachment was caused by a coupler malfunction.
It took about four hours before the detached bogies could be attended to, but the rescue team had not yet reached the site at the time of reporting.
